About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future role as a Pharmacist. This program provides hands-on experience with store, district, and regional operations under the direction of a preceptor.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely, accurately, and promptly.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures at every workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide caring service and contribute to a safe, inclusive team culture.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and facilitate medication changes where allowed.
- Deliver patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, while monitoring for and responding to adverse reactions.
- Complete basic inventory activities, including cycle counts and putting away medication deliveries.
- Provide coaching to team members and remain receptive to feedback to support a high-performing team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings is preferred.
- Ability to become immunization certified is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is preferred.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations within the market as needed.
- Flexibility for scheduling to meet business needs.
