About the role#
As a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate, you will complete your required US internship hours to build upon your existing education. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for US licensure. This program requires you to complete your internship hours within 18 months and obtain your pharmacist license within 120 days of finishing those hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment while maintaining HIPAA and company standards.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, selecting products, labeling, and resolving third-party rejections.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and perform register transactions.
- Adopt and manage patient care programs to support customer health.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing support staff.
- Identify business opportunities to drive growth and improve pharmacy performance.
- Coordinate and implement training for pharmacy support staff.
- Maintain inventory management policies and assist with drug orders.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- An active pharmacy intern license in the state of Texas.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
