About the role#
This internship provides foreign pharmacy graduates with the opportunity to complete required US internship hours and apply didactic learning to real-world pharmacy practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to become a pharmacist. You must complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in Nebraska within 120 days of completing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs at each pharmacy workstation to support pharmacists and technicians.
- Fulfill prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately across all workflow procedures.
- Provide immunizations and other services to patients.
- Offer counseling and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as cycle counts and restocking.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to team members.
- Travel to stores within the market to work shifts as needed.
What you'll need#
- A degree from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- 1+ years of related experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service is preferred.
