About the role#
As a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate, you will complete your required US internship hours to build upon your existing education. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for US licensure. This role requires the successful completion of your internship within 18 months, followed by obtaining your pharmacist license within 120 days of completing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective pharmacy work environment.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, product selection, counting, measuring, and labeling.
- Counsel patients and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Deliver health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing pharmacy support staff.
- Resolve third-party rejections and manage pharmacy inventory.
- Greet customers, assist with questions, and perform register transactions.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
- Participate in store operational meetings and lead team efforts to identify business opportunities.
What you'll need#
- A Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent pharmacist degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- An active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- The ability to work nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 10 lbs. frequently.
