About the role#
This position is designed for foreign pharmacy graduates to complete their required US internship hours. You will gain hands-on experience, follow a structured learning plan, and prepare for a career as a pharmacist. You are expected to complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in New York within 120 days of finishing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacy teams to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely, accurately, and promptly.
- Follow company standard operating procedures at every workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide patient care by showing empathy, solving problems, and offering immunizations or other health services.
- Field medical questions and counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify details with prescribers.
- Mentor and train pharmacy team members while sharing best practices.
- Manage basic inventory tasks like cycle counts and restocking.
- Educate patients on vaccines, monitor for adverse reactions, and document patient information.
- Travel to different stores within the market to work shifts as business needs require.
What you'll need#
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks, pivot between duties quickly, and verify label accuracy.
- Mathematical skills for calculating dosages and supply needs.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
