About the role#
This position is for US Non-Accredited Foreign Pharmacy Graduates seeking to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to apply your education to real-world practice. The goal of this program is to prepare you for a Pharmacist role. You must complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in Pennsylvania within 120 days of finishing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and workflow procedures at all workstations to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Provide patient care by fielding medical questions, soliciting medical history, and offering counseling under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and facilitate medication changes.
- Support pharmacy operations by completing inventory activities like cycle counts and returns.
- Coach and mentor pharmacy team members to share best practices.
- Deliver health services including immunizations, which involves preparing and administering vaccines, educating patients, and monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Demonstrate empathy and care during all patient interactions.
What you'll need#
- FPGEC certification.
- Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- 1+ years of work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Ability to work at your home store and travel to other locations in the market as needed.
