About the role#
Create Music Group is seeking an M&A Legal Intern to join its M&A Legal Affairs group for the Fall 2026 term. This role provides hands-on experience in music-related transactions, intellectual property, and corporate compliance, with a focus on music catalog acquisitions. Interns work directly under the guidance of the VP and the Director of M&A Legal Affairs.
What you'll do#
- Assist in drafting and reviewing asset purchase agreements, letters of direction, and related transactional documents.
- Conduct legal research and due diligence on potential acquisition targets.
- Support the preparation and submission of copyright registrations.
- Aid in the management and maintenance of corporate organizational documents, including filings and entity records.
- Review and revise non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) with prospective partners.
- Organize and track deal documents and legal correspondence.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and A&R teams on transaction-related tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a graduate student.
- Strong interest in M&A, intellectual property, and the music or media industry.
- Excellent legal writing, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- A detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative mindset.
- Academic background in Business Administration, Finance, Communications, Political Science, or Media Studies.
- Prior experience in transactional, corporate, or entertainment law is a plus.

- Term: Fall 2026.
- Duration: 3 to 4 months.
- Schedule: 15 to 20 hours per week.
- Work Modality: Fully remote.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
