About the role#
Cox Enterprises is hiring a Data Scientist Intern for Summer 2027. This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Atlanta, Georgia. You will join our team to work on real-world projects, receive mentorship, and develop your professional skills alongside experienced leaders.
What you'll do#
- Extract, transform, and load data for analysis.
- Perform data cleansing and exploratory data analysis.
- Integrate different data sources to produce actionable analysis.
- Analyze machine learning results and forecast marketing activities.
- Measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives using optimized contact strategies.
- Produce reports that summarize your findings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a STEM major, specifically Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering disciplines.
- Intermediate to advanced analytical skills with a strong background in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Statistics.
- Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL.
- Experience with coding, data visualization, Hadoop, and cloud computing.
- Familiarity with Microsoft tools.
- Ability to conduct thorough research and use findings to inform decision-making.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage time and meet project deadlines.
- A positive attitude, determination, and humility.
