About the role#
Cox Automotive is looking for a Cybersecurity Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Atlanta, Georgia. You will work with experienced professionals to help protect the platforms behind the vehicle marketplace and secure critical technology assets.
What you'll do#
- Support Cyber Defense initiatives, including security operations, procedures, and threat detection.
- Assist with Cyber Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) programs to improve metrics, supplier onboarding, and data privacy policies.
- Conduct application security reviews to identify and mitigate risks.
- Develop and tune cloud security posture-management policies.
- Contribute to the Mergers and Acquisitions program by assessing cyber risks in new businesses.
- Assist with Security Architecture initiatives, including zero-trust architectures and data protection.
- Research various cybersecurity topics.
- Document current and future-state processes.
- Participate in Human-Centered Design sessions to capture brainstorming efforts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a related degree program, such as Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems.
- Curiosity, a growth mindset, and a passion for cybersecurity.
- Creative problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
- Exposure to cybersecurity scripting, such as Python or JavaScript.
- Experience with business or process documentation.
- Leadership experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
