About the role#
As a Cox Conserves Technical Intern, you will support sustainability initiatives by analyzing data and building technical solutions. You will work closely with the Data Analysis Manager and the Environmental Sustainability team to understand how data informs strategic decisions. This role provides mentorship and hands-on experience with real-world sustainability data challenges.
What you'll do#
- Drive proof-of-concept AI projects to expand the team's AI toolkit.
- Assist in executing data pipeline, quality assurance, and reporting workstreams.
- Automate manual tasks to improve efficiency and data quality.
- Participate in the design and development of future data pipelines.
- Simplify and standardize internal reports for use across the organization.
- Identify and resolve data quality issues while documenting processes.
- Maintain dashboards and assist with tool or platform migrations.
- Work with internal and external data sources to support environmental data collection.
- Ensure reporting complies with environmental standards and company policies.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Coursework or experience with analytics, reporting, data mining, or data visualization.
- Familiarity with SQL and Python.
- Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Microsoft Fabric.
- An interest in sustainability metrics, regulations, and environmental data.
- Strong attention to detail, clear communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams.
