About the role#
As a Technology Intern, you will help build software tools that power the CoStar Group proprietary platform. These tools support our sales and research teams across real estate marketplaces like Homes.com, CoStar.com, Apartments.com, and LoopNet.com. You will work alongside full-time engineers on enterprise-level projects and contribute to meaningful business initiatives. Each intern is paired with a dedicated mentor to support technical development and day-to-day learning.
What you'll do#
- Build and improve software tools for our real estate marketplaces.
- Write understandable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Collaborate with full-time engineers and team members on technical projects.
- Gain exposure to technologies such as TypeScript, Java, C#.NET, Python, AWS, and Kubernetes.
- Explore AI-related areas including machine learning, large language models, and natural language processing.
- Participate in Agile development practices and the Software Development Lifecycle.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable major from an accredited, not-for-profit institution.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Planning to return to school following the completion of the summer 2027 internship.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Coursework or experience applying programming languages, software engineering fundamentals, databases, or cloud concepts.
- Understanding of web services, APIs, or application design concepts like REST or GraphQL.
- Demonstrated initiative through academic, internship, or extracurricular projects.
- Ability to commit to a 40-hour work week for the full 10-week summer program.
- Note: We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
Location & details#
- Location: Irvine, California.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (Monday to Thursday in-office, with the option to work from home on Friday).
- Compensation: $40 - $45 per hour.
