About the role#
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Manufacturing Engineering Operations team in Sunnyvale. You will work on automation, test fixture design, and performance analysis for our hardware products. This 10-week summer program pairs you with experienced engineers and mentors to help you gain hands-on experience with enterprise-level projects.
What you'll do#
- Own one hardware project from concept through build and validation.
- Design and assemble electromechanical hardware across all sub-systems.
- Extract performance data from hardware systems and process it into actionable results.
- Apply mechanical, software, and electrical skills to solve manufacturing and design problems.
- Present your project results to the team at the end of the internship.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and mentors to learn our processes and product lines.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable major.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Must be planning to return to school after the internship.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Available for the full 10-week program, working 40 hours per week.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks or Fusion 360.
- Working knowledge of mechatronics fundamentals including sensors, actuators, motor control, and basic electronics.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, wiring, assembling, and troubleshooting hardware.
- Ability to extract and analyze data using Python, MATLAB, or Excel.
- Experience with microcontrollers or embedded platforms like Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
- Familiarity with Agile development practices.
- Exposure to manufacturing, production, or lab environments.
- Demonstrated initiative through academic, extracurricular, or team-based projects.
