About the role#
Consigli Construction Co., Inc. is hiring an Estimating Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Portland, Maine. You will work directly with our estimating team to manage project data, support bid development, and gain hands-on experience in construction cost analysis.
What you'll do#
- Assist with quantity take-offs, unit pricing, and cost comparisons.
- Manage subcontractor lists and conduct research on products and suppliers.
- Visit project sites to collect data on topography, utilities, and site access.
- Prepare and reconcile cost estimates by comparing them against previous project data.
- Support bid development by preparing expenditure statements and maintaining tender documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A foundational understanding of construction materials, systems, and terminology.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, specifications, and construction drawings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking and analyzing costs.
- Basic knowledge of cost estimating principles, unit pricing, and quantity takeoffs.
