About the role#
As a Land Negotiator Intern, you will join an asset team to gain exposure to mineral and surface land operations. You will support the business through deal negotiation, contract drafting, due diligence, and ownership analysis. Throughout the internship, you will receive mentorship and cross-functional training to develop your professional and technical skills in a corporate environment.
What you'll do#
- Complete projects tailored to your experience level and present results to Land Management.
- Assist with the acquisition, trading, or divestment of surface and subsurface rights.
- Collaborate with internal functions including engineering, geology, finance, and accounting.
- Represent the company in dealings with co-owners, mineral owners, surface owners, and government entities.
- Gain exposure to agreement negotiations, contract drafting, and due diligence processes.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Environmental Engineering, or related fields (with a focus on Energy Commerce, Energy Management, or Energy Law).
- Current academic standing as a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Graduate student.
- Expected graduation date between Fall 2027 and Spring/Fall 2030.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship.
