About the role#
This internship provides high school students with hands-on experience in the agriculture and energy sectors. You will work in a supportive environment to gain exposure to daily operations, administrative tasks, and professional development. This position is part of a work-study program based in Winifred, Montana.
What you'll do#
- Learn about the cooperative business model and its role in the agriculture and energy industries.
- Develop workplace skills including time management, teamwork, and professional communication.
- Shadow experienced staff in areas such as agronomy, grain, and energy operations.
- Assist with operational tasks like organizing tools, cleaning workspaces, and preparing equipment.
- Learn about agricultural processes such as scouting, crop protection, and product delivery.
- Help with repairs and maintenance for agronomy equipment, including vehicles and sprayers.
- Engage in mentorship and career exploration activities.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a participating high school work-study program.
- Authorization from your school counselor or program coordinator.
- Ability to work part-time during or after school hours.
- An interest in agriculture, business, or operations.
- A willingness to learn and follow safety guidelines.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
