About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship within the CenterPoint Energy Procurement Organization. You will work alongside procurement, operations, and management teams to gain hands-on experience in the utility industry. You will report to the Procurement Manager and engage in daily Source-to-Pay functions.
What you'll do#
- Perform SAP transactions as required by the procurement team.
- Assist in procuring standard materials and services from suppliers while balancing cost, quality, and reliability.
- Execute RFX activities for ongoing bid events.
- Extract, format, interpret, and communicate data analyses.
- Collaborate with other summer interns on a group project.
- Develop a working knowledge of procurement systems and internal processes.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current Junior working toward a Bachelor's degree.
- At least 2 years of education in Supply Chain, Finance, Materials Management, Project Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
