About the role#
As a Service Consultant Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the utility industry by managing customer distribution projects. You will work alongside professionals to deliver energy solutions, support infrastructure, and maintain safety and regulatory standards. This role involves collaborating with internal departments, municipalities, and external partners to coordinate projects and address customer needs.
What you'll do#
- Gather project information, prepare estimates, and analyze data.
- Design electrical and gas distribution facilities.
- Represent the company in service extension negotiations.
- Work with elected officials and employees across city, county, and state entities.
- Secure project payments and research easement rights.
- Ensure construction projects are completed within specified timeframes.
- Identify and correct issues related to governmental regulations, code violations, and company standards.
- Review facilities for compliance with the National Electric Safety Code, the National Electric Code, and local ordinances.
- Perform field inspections for final project approval and customer requests.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in construction science, construction management, engineering technology, business, or marketing.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work a varied schedule to meet project deadlines.
