About the role#
As a Service Line Strategy Intern, you will support the Operations and Planning strategy at MISO. You will research emerging industry trends and turn them into insights that help leaders prepare the electric grid for the future. This role involves working across Market Operations, System Operations, Transmission Planning, and Resource Planning. You will own a strategy-focused project from initial research through final recommendation.
What you'll do#
- Research industry trends and assess their impact on operations and planning.
- Translate research into multi-year priorities and recommendations for leadership.
- Build and improve strategic roadmaps, dashboards, and planning views.
- Present your findings to team members and business leaders.
- Collaborate with various internal departments to understand strategic decision-making.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student.
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Economics, Data Science, Business, Finance, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Power BI and the Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with AI or LLMs is preferred.
- Background in power systems, energy markets, economics, strategic planning, or business analytics is a plus.
- Prior research experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 2 to August 13).
- Work modality: On-site in Carmel, Indiana or Eagan, Minnesota.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
