About the role#
This visiting appointment offers an introduction to clinical research within the Department of Neurology at Cedars-Sinai. Working under the guidance of Dr. Paula Barreras and Dr. Simpkins, you will contribute to the development of blood biomarkers, MRI, and clinical outcomes databases for neurological disorders. This role focuses on the intersection of neuroimmunology and cerebrovascular disease, providing you with hands-on experience in research compliance, data management, and academic writing.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the development of blood biomarkers, MRI, and clinical outcomes databases.
- Conduct chart reviews and maintain accurate research logs.
- Perform data entry and statistical analysis.
- Manage human subjects protection, HIPAA, and research compliance activities.
- Assist with manuscript writing and the development of presentations.
- Conduct literature reviews to support ongoing research projects.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old and hold a HS Diploma or GED.
- You must reside in the greater Los Angeles area or surrounding cities for the duration of the appointment.
- Interns must receive academic credit for the duration of the program.
- Visitors must receive funding from an eligible sponsoring institution.
- Enrollment in a graduate program (Master’s, PhD, or Medical School) is preferred.
