About the role#
Associated Students of CSU, Chico is hiring a Student Fitness Room Attendant for the Wildcat Recreation Center (WREC). This is a part-time, non-benefited position capped at 20 hours per week while school is in session. The pay rate is $16.90 per hour.
What you'll do#
- Open and close the WREC following standard procedures.
- Monitor recreation areas to ensure safety and cleanliness.
- Enforce facility policies through regular interaction with users.
- Handle guest questions and concerns.
- Submit reports for injuries, incidents, or maintenance needs.
- Respond to facility emergencies.
- Conduct facility tours for individuals and groups.
- Complete scheduled tasks and rounds independently.
- Assist in other areas of the WREC as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at CSU, Chico with at least 6 units for undergraduates or 4 units for graduate students.
- Ability to obtain First Aid and Adult CPR/AED certifications within 30 days of hire.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Capacity to learn and retain large volumes of information and processes.
- Professionalism when working with student and career staff.
- Experience in customer service or recreation facilities is preferred.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays or school breaks is preferred.

- Location: Chico, California.
- Work Modality: On-site at the Wildcat Recreation Center.
- Requirements: Must be able to walk for extended periods, lift and carry various weights, and use standard office equipment.
