About the role#
The Purchasing Intern supports the Carmeuse Purchasing Department by collecting and distributing information for existing programs. You will communicate with internal staff at all levels and interact with various suppliers. This role focuses on continuous improvement and finding ways to streamline department efforts.
What you'll do#
- Use SAP to manage transactions, including issuing purchase orders, reconciling invoices, and creating reports.
- Assist with and conduct Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Manage the supplier database through regular data entry.
- Evaluate suppliers and participate in negotiations.
- Handle internal and external communications.
- Complete additional projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and maintain a high energy level.
- Willingness to learn, take on responsibility, and work with different team members.
- Professional conduct in all interactions.

- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
