About the role#
As a Leasing Community Intern, you will support our apartment community by managing leasing operations and providing high-quality service to residents. This role focuses on maintaining occupancy through the retention of current residents and the leasing of available units. You will work on-site and participate in community events while serving as a primary point of contact for prospective and current residents.
What you'll do#
- Greet prospective clients and answer leasing calls.
- Determine client needs and present apartment homes.
- Complete lease applications and manage file paperwork.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the tour path to ensure a positive first impression.
- Participate in community events and assist with planning.
- Perform on-call responsibilities, including lock-outs and nightly rounds.
- Work evenings and weekends as scheduled.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Enrollment in a degree program at an accredited college or university with at least 6 credit hours completed.
- Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, as you will move between indoor and outdoor property areas.
- Preference for students pursuing degrees in Real Estate, Business Administration, Marketing, or Communications.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Blacksburg, Virginia.
- This is an on-site, paid internship.
- Work is part-time, approximately 20 hours per week.
- Interns must be current or future leaseholders of the community and reside on the assigned community floor.
