About the role#
We are looking for a Data Analyst Student to join the Canadian Tire Bank team for a 4-month term starting in Winter 2027. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Oakville, Ontario. You will support our data governance framework and help maintain data integrity across the organization.
What you'll do#
- Promote and support data governance and management standards, policies, and procedures.
- Assess the current data environment to find improvement opportunities.
- Monitor data, metadata, and reference data to support the data stewardship community.
- Address data quality and integrity issues.
- Maintain data models and supporting artefacts like data glossaries, catalogues, mappings, and lineage.
- Act as a liaison between IT, business data owners, and subject matter experts to support data integration.
- Perform data profiling and discovery tasks.
- Maintain communication with stakeholders throughout the data lifecycle.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science or related academic program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Foundational knowledge of programming concepts and languages.
- Hands-on experience with structured relational databases and writing SQL queries.
- Experience with Oracle databases is preferred.
- Exposure to Hive, Snowflake, Python, R, shell scripting, SAS, basic Linux commands, Databricks, or IBM Knowledge Catalog is an asset.
