About the role#
Reporting to the Manager or Director of Corporate Compliance, this role supports the Bank's Regulatory Compliance Management program. You will gain hands-on experience in regulatory compliance within a federally regulated financial institution while learning about risk management, governance, and regulatory oversight.
What you'll do#
- Maintain compliance documentation, including policies, procedures, regulatory inventories, risk assessments, and monitoring records.
- Assist with compliance monitoring and testing activities, such as gathering information, reviewing documentation, and organizing results.
- Support issue tracking and remediation by maintaining logs and following up on action items.
- Track and assess regulatory developments to document potential impacts to the Bank.
- Conduct research on regulatory requirements, industry trends, and emerging compliance risks.
- Prepare compliance reports, metrics, dashboards, and presentations for management.
- Coordinate meetings, take notes, and manage documents to support governance activities.
- Help maintain records for internal audits and regulatory examinations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program in Business, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Law, Risk Management, Public Policy, or a related discipline.
- Strong interest in regulatory compliance, risk management, governance, or financial services.
- Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
