About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will work within the Credit Risk Division at Canadian Tire Bank, reporting to the Manager of Modeling and Segmentation Analytics. The team focuses on understanding credit card customer behavior to inform strategic decisions regarding credit limits, marketing promotions, collections, and account adjudication.
What you'll do#
- Help develop and validate predictive models used for credit risk strategies.
- Analyze data to support business needs and assess the feasibility of new models.
- Track performance metrics and implement deployment techniques for models.
- Build expertise in lending, credit scoring, and portfolio management.
- Complete ad-hoc analytical requests as they arise.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program for Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Programming experience using Python, SAS, or R.
- Working knowledge of Python data-manipulation libraries like pandas and numpy.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with statistical models and concepts.
- Proficiency with the MS Office Suite.

- This position is based on-site in Oakville, Ontario, or Welland, Ontario.
- The internship lasts for 4 months.
- Compensation ranges from $23.00 to $37.00 per hour, with a typical hiring range of $23.00 to $30.00 per hour depending on experience and skills.
