About the role#
Hoffman Construction Company is hiring a Data Analyst Intern to support our project teams and departments. You will help drive decision-making by extracting insights from various data sources and ensuring data quality. This role involves a mix of office work and time spent on construction sites. The position requires a commitment of approximately 20 hours per week during the school year, with a schedule coordinated alongside your team.
What you'll do#
- Extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources.
- Create and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI for Department and Project Managers.
- Clean and prepare historical construction data for analysis.
- Assist with data science initiatives, including identifying construction activities for automation and machine learning.
- Update data flowcharts and create data swim lanes.
- Complete assigned data courses through DataCamp, Enterprise DNA, or LinkedIn Learning.
- Host team learning sessions and manage meeting minutes and action items.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field.
- Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office 365.
- Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools such as MS Power BI, Python, Matplotlib, and Seaborn.
- Knowledge of machine learning algorithms.
- Familiarity with project management software like Procore or Smartsheet.
- Ability to work in both office and field environments, including navigating ladders and scaffolds.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with trade and craft personnel.
- Ability to travel for up to one week to project sites outside the Pacific Northwest.

- Compensation: Paid position ($25.13 - $31.50 per hour).
