About the role#
The AI Intern- SIOP role at CMC offers hands-on experience within the construction and steel industry. You will work directly with leadership on process improvement initiatives and gain exposure to industrial and engineering technologies. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2026.
What you'll do#
- Cross-train across the department to build skills in industrial and engineering technologies.
- Complete and analyze time and motion studies.
- Document findings and suggest process changes.
- Work with leadership to improve and sustain operational processes.
- Create, review, and update process flow layouts.
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with the team on quality and safety improvement projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using AI tools like Microsoft Copilot.
- Basic knowledge of Python, SQL, Power BI, or data visualization tools.
- Familiarity with automation platforms such as Power Automate.
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
