About the role#
Mortenson is looking for an AI Intern to join our i4 department. You will help us develop AI agents and tools that improve our internal processes, ranging from automation in construction solutions to predictive insights. You will work alongside our AI team and Data Solutions group to prototype new technology and apply it to real-world projects.
What you'll do#
- Build and test AI agents and custom AI systems.
- Work on prompt engineering for agent workflows and manage user feedback loops.
- Prepare data sets for training and evaluation.
- Experiment with pre-trained models for NLP, computer vision, and generative AI.
- Document your findings and share knowledge with the team.
- Build relationships with people across different backgrounds and organizational levels.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program, specifically in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems.
- Status as an undergraduate junior is preferred.
- Previous internship experience in a related field.
- A basic understanding of construction and general business practices.
- Strong skills in collaboration, communication, and problem-solving.

- Employment type: Full-time.
- Compensation: Paid internship with an hourly wage starting at $18.
