About the role#
We are looking for a Machine Learning Summer Intern to join our team in 2027. You will work alongside experienced technical staff to design, develop, and test machine learning models. This role focuses on solving engineering challenges that support our space exploration missions. You will receive mentorship while contributing to projects that impact real space flight.
What you'll do#
- Develop machine learning solutions for aerospace applications.
- Research, implement, and evaluate machine learning algorithms to address engineering problems.
- Build and test models for areas such as spacecraft autonomy, anomaly detection, and signal detection.
- Perform data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model optimization to improve system performance.
- Collaborate with aerospace and software engineers to integrate your work into mission-focused applications.
- Document your technical work and present findings to the engineering team.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Proficiency in Python and data processing libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, or Scikit-learn.
- Understanding of machine learning concepts, including supervised and unsupervised learning, classification, regression, and clustering.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Experience with software development best practices, including Git.

- This internship is located on-site in Westminster, Colorado.
- The term is Summer 2027.
- This is a full-time, paid position.
