About the role#
The Enterprise SG&A team within Corporate Finance builds the data pipelines, automations, dashboards, and AI tools that power our finance operations. As the company scales, we ensure our finance tooling scales with it. We are looking for an intern to work at the intersection of finance, data, and AI. You will work with real data from your first day, ship tools for finance teams and department owners, and manage a wide range of projects.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain automations to replace manual steps in month-end close, reporting, and planning workflows.
- Write SQL and Python against our financial data warehouse in Databricks to pull, clean, and analyze GL, vendor, and headcount data.
- Design self-serve dashboards and tools so finance partners can get answers without ad hoc requests.
- Apply AI to finance workflows by building prompts, agents, and reusable skills, while testing their output for accuracy.
- Set up scheduled tasks and data refreshes so recurring deliverables run automatically.
- Partner with FP&A, Accounting, and business owners to identify bottlenecks and design better processes.
- Build checks to catch data issues early, such as miscoded charges, duplicate spend, or breaks between systems.
- Manage projects from concept through build, testing, and handoff.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Working knowledge of SQL and Python.
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to build clean, traceable models.
- Basic understanding of financial statements and how a P&L is built.
- Fluency with AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot, including prompt engineering.
- Strong attention to detail and comfort being held to numbers that tie.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort with ambiguity and juggling multiple projects.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or other cloud data platforms is a plus.
- Experience building AI agents, bots, APIs, or automations is preferred.
- Exposure to data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
- Familiarity with ERP or EPM systems such as Oracle Fusion or Oracle EPM is a plus.
- Prior internship in FP&A, accounting, data analytics, or finance systems is preferred.
- Interest in defense, aerospace, or national security.
Location & details#
- Location: Costa Mesa, California.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Rolling.
