About the role#
As a Project Management Summer Intern, you will join our team to support the execution of complex aerospace projects. You will work alongside experienced technical staff who provide mentorship as you gain hands-on experience in project planning, schedule management, cost tracking, and risk management. This role is designed for students interested in the intersection of engineering and business, offering the chance to support missions from early development through execution.
What you'll do#
- Support aerospace project execution initiatives.
- Work with technical staff on project planning, schedule management, cost tracking, and risk management.
- Contribute to Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) projects.
- Support full end-to-end mission development.
- Assist with project schedule development and maintenance.
- Monitor project budgets and costs.
- Identify and track technical risks.
- Help develop and improve project management processes.
- Coordinate between technical teams and project stakeholders.
- Present project results through technical reports, presentations, and documentation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Project Management, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Foundational understanding of aerospace project formulation and execution.
- Completed coursework in aerospace systems, systems engineering, spacecraft design, orbital mechanics, project management, or related subjects.
- Ability to identify technical risks by reviewing documentation or participating in reviews.
- Understanding of requirements definition.
- Familiarity with project scheduling concepts or software tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- You must be a U.S. person.
