About the role#
The Operational Risk Management Student joins the team for a 4-month term starting Winter 2027. You will report to the Director of Operational Risk and Resilience, working alongside risk professionals to support governance, regulatory compliance, and risk reporting. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Oakville, Ontario.
What you'll do#
- Support the execution of the Operational Risk Management framework.
- Gather, analyze, and validate risk data from across the business.
- Prepare risk reports, dashboards, presentations, and management summaries.
- Maintain and document risk policies, procedures, and standards.
- Participate in control testing, risk assessments, and process reviews to identify improvement opportunities.
- Track risk remediation activities and monitor progress on action plans.
- Research emerging risks, industry trends, and regulatory developments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote risk awareness.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or Information Systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail and organizational ability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- An interest in risk management, governance, compliance, or financial services.
- Knowledge of risk frameworks like the Three Lines Model or COSO is an asset.

- Compensation: $23.00 - $37.00 CAD hourly, with a typical hiring range of $23.00 - $30.00 hourly.
