About the role#
As an IS Security Student, you will join the IS Operations team to support application needs across the business. This role involves managing system access while maintaining security standards. You will work on-site at our Calgary head office for a 4-month term starting in May 2027.
What you'll do#
- Provide users with access to systems following documented procedures and service level agreements.
- Maintain a secure environment by verifying approvals before granting access.
- Deliver prompt service for all IS-managed system access requests.
- Communicate with users in a polite and professional manner.
- Manage multiple tasks and conflicting priorities under strict deadlines.
- Remain calm and focused during high-pressure situations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of a degree or diploma in Information Technology or Computer Science.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to create accurate and readable documentation and reports.
- Previous IT experience in the oil and gas industry is an asset.
- Familiarity with ITIL, Cisco network infrastructure, or oil and gas applications is an asset.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada with no restrictions.
