About the role#
Canadian Natural Resources Limited offers a student work term focused on exploration and mining geology. You will work alongside experienced geologists to gain on-the-job training in a safety-sensitive environment. This role involves practical geology workflows, including 3D modeling, petrophysical log interpretation, and field-based activities. You will contribute to asset teams by preparing technical data and supporting development programs.
What you'll do#
- Analyze geological data and interpret subsurface formations.
- Prepare regional interpretations and mapping for prospective geologic formations.
- Review and describe core from formations of interest.
- Contribute to day-to-day activity by working with teams on drilling programs and evaluation.
- Communicate findings to the asset team and management through presentations.
- Support active mining operations through deposit characterization and field validation of geological models.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Geology or related fields such as Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Biology, Physics, or Chemical Engineering.
- Recent graduates of an accredited institution may also be considered.
- Required to be physically and mentally fit for work.
- A sense of ownership and responsibility for project outcomes.
- Ability to work effectively in collaborative, interdisciplinary teams.
- Possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license or equivalent out-of-province license.
