About the role#
This position offers students the chance to work on regulatory projects within the oil and gas industry. You will assist in coordinating information from project teams and consultants to prepare applications, authorizations, and plans. The role involves working in both the Calgary head office and the field in Fort McMurray.
What you'll do#
- Support the preparation of regulatory applications, reports, and responses to information requests.
- Assist with data compilation and basic analysis for regulatory reporting.
- Contribute to documentation that supports Indigenous consultation and stakeholder engagement.
- Help prepare communication materials for stakeholders and Indigenous communities.
- Monitor regulatory updates and decisions to identify changes in requirements.
- Support field and office-based regulatory activities, including tracking approval conditions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in the 3rd or 4th year of a program in Engineering, Science, Forestry, Environmental Science, Political Science, or a Law and Society program.
- A valid Class 5 driver license with a clean abstract.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills to manage and schedule multiple concurrent tasks.
- Attention to detail to produce high-quality work.
- Strong written communication skills to review and summarize external correspondence.
Location & details#
- Locations: Calgary, Alberta and Fort McMurray, Alberta.
- Term: Summer 2027 start.
- Schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off in Calgary; 4 days on, 3 days off in Fort McMurray.
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site position.
