About the role#
Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises is looking for a Nutrition Student Assistant to join the team at Centerpointe. This position offers students a chance to build customer service skills and gain professional experience within a dining services environment. You will work as part of a team to support daily operations and special projects.
What you'll do#
- Perform general office tasks, prepare documents, and handle confidential materials.
- Assist with food preparation, serving, waiting tables, and cashiering.
- Help with facility maintenance including dishwashing, custodial tasks, and groundwork.
- Receive and stock orders or items.
- Provide customer service to individuals in person, by phone, or through email.
- Support research projects and tutoring initiatives.
- Communicate work status and task completion to your supervisor regularly.
- Manage multiple tasks and prioritize projects effectively.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current Cal Poly Pomona student in good academic standing.
- Majors in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, Hospitality Management, or Kinesiology are preferred.
- A strong interest in nutrition, food safety, and supporting students with special dietary needs.
- Knowledge of food allergies, dietary restrictions, and how to prevent allergen cross-contact.
- Ability to work well with diverse groups of people.
- Reliability in maintaining a regular work schedule.
