About the role#
This position supports Dining Services at Cal Poly Pomona. You will gain experience in customer service, team collaboration, and professional development while working on campus. This role requires the ability to balance technical tasks with direct service in a multi-cultural environment.
What you'll do#
- Perform general office tasks and prepare necessary documents.
- Assist with tutoring and research projects.
- Support dining operations through food preparation, serving, waiting tables, and cashiering.
- Handle dishwashing, custodial tasks, and groundwork.
- Receive and stock orders and inventory items.
- Communicate with your supervisor regarding work status and project completion.
- Assist individuals in person, by email, or over the phone.
- Manage multiple projects and handle confidential materials with accuracy.
- Help with special projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current Cal Poly Pomona student in good academic standing.
- Major in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, Hospitality Management, or Kinesiology is preferred.
- Interest in nutrition, food safety, and supporting students with special dietary needs.
- Knowledge of food allergies, dietary restrictions, and preventing allergen cross-contact.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Professional, honest, and courteous conduct toward all individuals.
- Ability to maintain a regular work schedule.
