About the role#
The Astros Golf Foundation is seeking a Tournament Operations Intern to support the team during the Texas Children’s Houston Open and other high-profile events. You will work directly with the Operations Manager and Coordinator to manage tournament logistics. This is a paid, part-time seasonal internship running from January 4, 2027, to May 17, 2027. You will split your time between an office setting and the golf course, which may require working outdoors in various weather conditions and performing physical tasks like lifting up to 50 pounds.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning and execution of on-site tournament operations.
- Support the strategic site-build plan and keep track of vendor timelines.
- Act as a secondary point of contact for vendors and help them with on-site activations during tournament week.
- Manage the childcare setup with the PGA Tour at an off-site location.
- Inventory storage equipment and tournament assets.
- Handle various operational tasks on-course and in the tournament office.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior, Senior, or graduate student in Sports Management, PGA Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Ability to reside in or near Houston, Texas, for the duration of the internship.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to commute to the Memorial Park Golf Course office and off-site locations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, team-oriented work ethic.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Comfort making phone calls and interacting with clients, vendors, and volunteers.
- Ability to maintain discretion with confidential information.

- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with required presence during the Texas Children’s Houston Open week and other foundation events.
