About the role#
The Astros Golf Foundation is looking for a Sponsorship Relations Intern to support sponsorship management and activation for the Texas Children’s Houston Open and other marquee events. You will work directly with the Manager of Ticketing and Sponsorship and collaborate with departments including Operations, Volunteers, and Retail. This is a paid, on-site internship running from January 4, 2027, through May 5, 2027. Work hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with additional requirements during tournament weeks.
What you'll do#
- Assist with activating sponsorship contracts and managing partnership fulfillment.
- Track deadlines and deliverables for various partners.
- Serve as a second point of contact for sponsors.
- Manage the Honorary Observer program with the Committee Chair during tournament week.
- Help the Sales and Activation team create annual proof of performance and recap reports.
- Provide support for Pro-am events and miscellaneous operational tasks on-course and in the tournament office.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as at least a Junior level college or graduate student in Sports Management, PGA Management, Hospitality, Business Management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain discretion with confidential information.
- A proactive, solution-driven, and team-oriented work ethic.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously.
- Comfort making phone calls and meeting with clients, vendors, and volunteers.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 50lbs and work in various weather conditions.
