About the role#
The IT Support Analyst Intern joins our Information Technology team to provide 1st and 2nd level support for local and remote users. You will work on tasks that require careful evaluation to reach effective solutions. This role focuses on building strong working relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction through technical problem-solving.
What you'll do#
- Provide 1st and 2nd level remote support to end users.
- Act as a customer liaison for IT issues and track complex incidents to resolution.
- Monitor Service Desk tickets to ensure timely follow-up and accurate assignment.
- Manage security groups, user accounts, and computers in Active Directory.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with PCs, laptops, printers, phones, tablets, cabling, DNS, and DHCP.
- Collaborate with IT Operations management to test new technologies and determine desktop environment strategy.
- Support proprietary and third-party software applications.
- Create work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, and technical documentation.
- Perform audit tasks to meet SOX and internal requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program for Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Proficiency with computer hardware, operating systems, and desktop applications.
- Ability to research and resolve desktop and account issues.
- Skill in managing priorities and handling multiple tasks at once.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Capability to work independently on complex situations.
- Ability to build effective relationships across departments.
- Commitment to ongoing training and new system implementation.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Q clearance.
