About the role#
As a Human Resources Intern, you will gain hands-on exposure to core People Operations, Talent Management, and HR Business Partner workflows. You will provide direct support to the business by assisting with talent management, workforce planning, onboarding, employee engagement, and HR operations across the Advanced Technologies and Nuclear Operations Group Technologies business units. Working closely with HR leadership, you will help maintain critical talent frameworks, analyze employee sentiment metrics, and support organizational initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Research, draft, and update role profiles, competency models, and career pathway guides.
- Support workforce capability assessments, skills inventory initiatives, and development planning templates.
- Coordinate and compile notes for talent programs, including high-potential development pilots.
- Administer and analyze employee feedback from engagement, onboarding, and exit interviews.
- Build and update basic dashboards tracking turnover and retention metrics.
- Summarize qualitative employee sentiment data to help identify workplace trends.
- Support HR Business Partners with documentation and action-item tracking.
- Monitor onboarding milestones, performance management cycles, and talent tracking logs.
- Audit and update HR SharePoint sites, employee guides, and manager resource toolkits.
- Assist with seasonal HR initiatives and special projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial-Organizational, Psychology, or a related field.
- Completion of at least one year of undergraduate study or enrollment in a graduate program.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle highly sensitive, confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to summarize complex information into clear updates.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically strong data manipulation in Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, charts) and presentation skills in PowerPoint.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy or Department of Defense security clearance.
