About the role#
The Finance Intern will complete a variety of accounting and finance duties while working under the guidance of finance leads and site controllers. This role offers exposure to different parts of the department through hands-on work and collaboration with experienced professionals in person and across other sites.
What you'll do#
- Perform journal entries.
- Assist with financial modeling, analysis, and reporting tasks.
- Support the budgeting process.
- Contribute to automation and other high-value projects, such as enhanced analytics or system implementations.
- Work as a team member to meet the needs of office staff, leadership, and customers.
- Provide customer service to help staff and customers reach their goals.
- Evaluate current systems and procedures and suggest process improvements, including the use of AI.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program with a focus on Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics.
- Ability to manage priorities and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong skills with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy security clearance.

- Term: Summer 2027.
- Compensation: $20.45 - $26.27 per hour.
