About the role#
As a Community Engagement Intern, you will spend 10 to 12 weeks at our Garner, North Carolina headquarters. This role provides hands-on experience in corporate philanthropy, employee engagement, and storytelling. You will support our philanthropic platform, Our Shared Table, while gaining insight into how we connect with the communities where our team members live and work.
What you'll do#
- Support community initiatives, volunteer programs, charitable giving, and nonprofit partnerships.
- Create content for internal and external channels, such as articles and presentations.
- Assist with campaigns that encourage employee participation in volunteer and giving efforts.
- Track engagement metrics and maintain reporting tools to support impact summaries for leadership.
- Research best practices in corporate social responsibility to provide recommendations.
- Help manage special projects, including the Butterball Helping Hands Fund and product donation efforts.
What you'll need#
- You are a rising senior working toward a Bachelor's degree or a student currently in a Master's program.
- Your major is in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Nonprofit Management, Business, Corporate Social Responsibility, or a related field.
- Your expected graduation date falls between December 2027 and June 2029.
- You have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to get to work.
- You possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- We prefer candidates with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Copilot.
- Experience with social media content creation, photography, video editing, event planning, or Canva is a plus.

- This is a full-time, paid internship located on-site in Garner, North Carolina.
- The term for this position is Summer 2027.
