Buckner Children and Family Services offers internship opportunities across programs including Family Hope Centers, Foster Care and Adoption, and Family Pathways. This program provides hands-on experience in the non-profit sector, focusing on community support and family services. Interns gain exposure to ministry operations while working with families in vulnerable situations.
What you'll do#
- Support the planning and implementation of activities for children and families.
- Shadow staff and assist in managing aspects of a family case.
- Collaborate with team members on planning special year-round events.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to departmental projects.
- Perform clerical duties and tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
- Develop technical skills relevant to the non-profit industry.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
- A strong academic record.
- Ability to commit to 16-24 hours per week during business hours, with some required evening availability.
- Comfort working with children and adults from diverse age groups, socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures, and religious beliefs.
- Ability to provide clear written and verbal instructions.
- Access to personal housing and transportation to and from the assigned internship site.
- Proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required.
- Relevant majors include Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Human Resources, or Criminal Justice.
