About the role#
Buckner Children and Family Services is seeking interns for the Fall 2026 term in Amarillo, Texas. This program offers experience within the Foster Care and Adoption or Family Pathways departments. Interns will gain professional exposure to non-profit operations and the delivery of social services to families in vulnerable situations.
What you'll do#
- Support the planning and implementation of activities for children and families.
- Shadow staff and manage aspects of a family case.
- Collaborate with team members on special events held throughout the year.
- Participate in meetings and contribute to team projects.
- Perform various clerical duties and tasks assigned by a supervisor.
- Develop technical skills relevant to the non-profit industry.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
- Ability to commit to 16-24 hours per week during business hours, with some evening availability required.
- A strong academic record.
- Comfort working with children and adults from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
- Ability to provide clear written and verbal instructions.
- Access to personal housing and reliable transportation to and from the internship site.
- Proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required.
