About the role#
Brunswick Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join the team in Edgewater, Florida. This full-time, on-site internship runs from May to August 2027. You will work to increase productivity and reduce operational costs by reengineering manufacturing processes in a fiberglass and resin environment.
What you'll do#
- Analyze manufacturing processes using engineering tools and techniques.
- Conduct industrial engineering studies, including manpower forecasts, capacity analysis, and resource leveling.
- Assist in implementing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Study and analyze variation in critical manufacturing processes.
- Create 3D-models of plant layouts to assist in building design.
- Create fiberglass molds and specification prints for new products.
- Participate in the building, testing, and validation of new marine products.
- Review new product designs and create CAD models for future models.
- Maintain documentation on all studies and analysis.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 2 years toward a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Computer Engineering.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, and MS Project.
- Basic knowledge of Lean Six Sigma.
- Experience using engineering tools in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Availability for a full 40-hour work week.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Preferred: Coursework in Statistics, Work Measurement and Design, and Quality Engineering; 3D modeling and simulation experience; interest in the marine industry.
