About the role#
As a Seismic Imaging Technology intern, you will work with scientists on geophysical research and development. Your work covers seismic acquisition, imaging, data processing, and reservoir characterization. You will use your skills to address subsurface challenges in exploration, development, and production. This 12-week program includes a dedicated line manager and buddy to support your transition. Successful interns may be considered for the One Subsurface full-time program after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Apply expertise in digital signal processing, wave propagation, numerical simulation, and inverse theory.
- Implement and execute algorithms within the bp High Performance Computing Center.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to share findings.
- Participate in networking events, lunch and learns, and project presentations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a PhD in Geophysics, engineering, or applied sciences.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages and computing platforms.
- Ability to start the 12-week internship on May 17, 2027, or June 14, 2027.
