About the role#
This 12-week summer internship provides hands-on experience within the Supply, Trading, and Shipping (ST&S) business at bp. You will gain foundational knowledge of global energy markets and the commercial aspects of the energy value chain. You will work alongside a dedicated line manager and buddy, connecting with teams across trading, analytics, finance, legal, and operations to develop your commercial acumen.
What you'll do#
- Build an understanding of global energy markets, market fundamentals, and commercial strategies.
- Support physical commodity movements and learn about transportation logistics and vessel chartering.
- Gain exposure to pricing, risk management, analytics, and physical operations.
- Assist with origination and customer-focused commercial activities.
- Contribute to technical enhancements, process improvements, and operational efficiencies.
- Evaluate market trends and strategic development opportunities.
- Participate in business projects, ad hoc initiatives, and problem-solving activities.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in any major.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to work in the United States without restrictions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and a bias for action.
- Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and build relationships with stakeholders.
- Interest in energy markets, logistics, and commercial strategy.
- Availability to start on May 17, 2027, or June 14, 2027.
- Successful completion of background and medical screenings.

- Compensation: Monthly salary ranges from $3,896 to $6,375 depending on degree major, level, and graduation year.
