About the role#
As a PMO Business Process Intern with the IO&E Research & Development Project Management Office, you will help document and standardize key PMO processes. You will create practical resources that help project teams work consistently and effectively. During this three-month internship, you will own defined workstreams from discovery through delivery with guidance from the PMO team.
What you'll do#
- Interview project managers, functional partners, and subject matter experts to understand established PMO processes.
- Document and standardize processes, including roles, timing, inputs, outputs, and tools.
- Develop PMO playbooks, process guides, templates, and checklists.
- Create training materials, job aids, and onboarding resources.
- Support PMO SharePoint and other business tools using Excel, Power BI, Power Automate, or Power Apps.
- Explore opportunities to use automation and AI to reduce manual work.
- Gather feedback, incorporate updates, and support the implementation of new resources.
- Manage workstream activities, timelines, and deliverables while communicating progress to the team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelors or graduate degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Project Management, Organizational Leadership, Information Systems, Engineering Management, or Data Analytics.
- Graduation date between Fall 2027 and Spring 2028.
- Ability to commit to one of two program periods: May 17th - August 6th or May 24th - August 13th.
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience or coursework in business process improvement, business analysis, or project management.
- Familiarity with SharePoint, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, or similar technologies.
- Demonstrated interest in AI, automation, or emerging business technologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and pay close attention to detail.
- Comfort asking questions and working through ambiguity.
Location & details#
- Location: Maple Grove, Minnesota (Arbor Lakes corporate location).
- Work Modality: On-site (at least four days per week).
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
- Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship. Reliable transportation to the office is required.
