About the role#
This is a full-time, 4-month internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will join the BMO team in Toronto to gain practical experience in financial reporting and governance. This role requires you to work on-site. You must be currently enrolled in an academic program and returning to your studies following the internship to be eligible.
What you'll do#
- Consolidate, analyze, and report on the financial performance of your assigned business group.
- Support the month, quarter, and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries and reporting packages.
- Review financial information for accuracy and reasonableness.
- Gather and format data for regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.
- Provide information and support for internal and external audits.
- Develop solutions and make recommendations based on business strategy and stakeholder needs.
- Execute routine tasks while meeting defined service level agreements.
- Apply the Risk Management Framework to ensure all activities align with bank policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet business objectives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an academic program with a focus on Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Progress toward or completion of an accounting designation.
- In-depth analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to influence others and work effectively within a team.
- Specialized knowledge gained through education or business experience.
